After you are greeted at your hotel (either in Naples, Sorrento or Amalfi coast), you will make your way to the archaeological site of Pompeii, the ancient city whose ruins were preserved by the volcanic eruption for almost 2000 years ago here you will spend a couple of hours.
Archeological Excavations in Pompei are open from the 1st of November to the 31st of March every day from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm
From the 1st of April to the 31st of October every day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Either licensed guides can be arranged ahead of time or audio guides can be rented on-site, with voice recordings in many languages. However you choose to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will be in awe as you see the remnants of this 1st century city which offer some insight into the Roman life that came to a premature stop here on 24 August AD 79.
You will meet back your driver outside of the ruins and continue on to the next site of the day, Herculaneum, a renowned seaside resort visited only by the Roman aristocrats to spend their summers which was completely buried by the lava and mud during the reaction of mount Vesuvius in 79 ad.
Now your morning will be full with history and you can enjoy your afternoon and relax right at the feet of the Vesuvius in a local winery where you will be given a guided tour of the vineyards and enjoy the lunch in a beautiful terrace garden to taste the specialities of the Campania region like ( Brushetta, eggplant parmigiana, home made pasta with cherry tomatoes) accompanied with wine tasting of different wines of the area ( Lacryma Christi, Aglianico , Piedirosso, etc..) to finish with Spumante ( sparkling wine ) before heading back to your accommodation.
